Javier Masquijo, MD practices at Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children in Dallas, United States. He completed his medical training at Universidad de Córdoba, followed by an Orthopedic Residency at Sanatorio Allende. He pursued Pediatric Orthopedic Fellowships at Hospital Garrahan in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario in Canada. In 2012, Dr. Masquijo was one of three POSNA-SLAOTI Traveling Fellows for the Pediatric Orthopaedic Society of North America. His training also includes observerships at prominent institutions such as Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children (Orlando), Texas Scottish Rite Hospital (Dallas), Shriners Hospitals for Children (St. Louis), Boston Children’s Hospital, and the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.
Dr. Masquijo is an active member of numerous national and international orthopedic societies, including the Asociación Argentina de Ortopedia y Traumatología (AAOT), Sociedad Argentina de Ortopedia y Traumatología Infantil (SAOTI), AO Latin America, and Sociedad Latinoamericana de Ortopedia y Traumatología Infantil (SLAOTI). He is a past president of SAOTI and currently serves on the board of SLAOTI. Recently, he was invited to join the IPOS® Advisory Board and became a member of the prestigious International Pediatric Orthopedic Think Tank (IPOTT).
He serves as the Deputy Editor for International Publications for JPOSNA and is a reviewer for multiple high-impact scientific journals, including the Journal of Pediatric Orthopaedics (JPO) and American Journal of Sports Medicine (AJSM). His clinical and research interests focus on pediatric trauma, sports injuries in children and adolescents, and foot and ankle deformities. Dr. Masquijo has led numerous multicenter studies and authored over 140 peer-reviewed articles and 15 textbook chapters in orthopedic literature.
